15 years old Girl attempts suicide

A 15-year-old girl tried to take her own life by standing in the path of an on coming train. At the Malad railway station

The train driver, however, saw her from afar and immediately started decreasing the speed and managed to stop the train in time to avoid running her over.

Meanwhile, railway police officers rushed to the scene and took the girl into custody.

According to railway police officers on Friday, the incident occurred in the afternoon at the Churchgate-bound platform of the Malad railway station.

The girl climbed off the platform, the police said and added, stood on the tracks while the train was approaching, leading to alarm among other people.

As per reports, the girl was under stress and the reason behind her suicide attempt is unclear
