6 dead over 50 wounded ,Earthquake measuring 6.7 on Richter Scale hits Northeast in India

A high-intensity earthquake of moderate intensity rocked India’s northeastern states on Monday hit the northeastern region of the country, epicentre of which was in Manipur.

According to the Ministry of Earth Sciences. Rescue team says that 5 deaths in Manipur and 1 in Assam.

The quake, measuring 6.7 on the Richter Scale, took place at 4.35 AM at a depth of 17 km below the ground and the epicentre is located at Tamenglong district of Manipur.

The epicentre has been located at Long 24.8 Deg North and Lat 93.5 Deg East, it said.

The tremor was felt in the North Eastern and Eastern part of the country.

The earthquake was felt in parts of Manipur, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram and Tripura.
