Bharatiya Janata Party has welcomed political turncoat Bhim Singh with open arms. The JD(U) leader has switched sides as he came into the party fold on Thursday.
BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi garlanded the Maha Dalit heavy weight. The unsettling thing is that none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi had called him ‘shameless’ last year.
Bhim Singh had made a controversial statement about jawans in army and police, enthusiasm the then BJP prime ministerial candidate Modi lash out against him in a rally.
Bhim Singh, in 2013, had said that jawans in Army and police join the forces only to be martyred. Bhim Singh was then Gramin Vikas minister in Bihar’s JD(U) government. When he made the comment, JD(U) had already broken alliance with BJP in Bihar.
Riled with the comment, Modi had addressed a rally in which he targeted JD(U) and called him a ‘nirlaj’ leader.
Meanwhile, with the inclusion of Bhim Singh in BJP, JD(U) has been left in the cold as he was the last Maha Dalit leader they had.
