Mohali: Three youth have been arrested in Punjab’s Mohali with Pakistani sim cards, a Pakistan-made automatic rifle and other weapons.
The arrested three men, described by the Mohali police as heroin smugglers, comes as operations are still on against Pakistani terrorists who attacked an air force base in Pathankot, also in Punjab.
Police officer GPS Bhullar ruled out any connecting between the men arrested in Mohali and the terrorists. Smugglers who operate across the Indo-Pak border in Punjab routinely use Pakistani sim cards to communicate with their contacts.
He said the three men arrested today belonged to a cartel destroy earlier by the police.
Terrorists suspected to belong to the Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammad, attacked the Pathankot air base early on Saturday morning and an operation to delete them has been on since then.
Five terrorists have been kill, while at least two are still hiding in a residential building at the air base.
