Embarrassing Incident , A 62-year-old man, who had allegedly raped a minor girl at his residence in southeast Delhi’s Sunlight colony area, committed suicide by jumping in front of a speeding train, cop said.
The incident took place on Saturday, when the accused, who is a retired government employee, found his tenant’s 8-year-old daughter alone and Tempt her to his residence in the same building, where he stated forced himself upon her, said police.
After, when the victim narrated the incident to her mother, they approached the police. But when a police team went to the residence of the accused, where he lived alone, he was missing.
Later in the evening, the body of the accused was found near the railway tracks close to Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station in southeast Delhi.
From preliminary investigation, it emerged that the accused went near the railway track after stated sexually assaulting the minor and committed suicide there, police said.
A case under relevant sections of IPC and POCSO Acts was registered in link with the incident and the girl was advised by an NGO, police added.
