Dussehra marks the devastation of Ravan, the demon king, by Lord Ram symbolizing the victory of good over evil and is celebrated with much fanfare in Delhi by burning the effigy of Ravan, Inderjeet his son, and Kumbhkaran his brother and bursting firecrackers. According to history, Bahadur Shah Zafar, the Mughal Emperor, started this Ramlila celebration around 180 years ago making it one of the oldest Dussehra celebrations in Delhi. Their Ramlila show is unique and performed in the traditional way. The dressed up actors parade through Old Delhi every day prior every Ramlila show. Though the residents of Old Delhi might have lost interest in this parade, visitors find this quite interesting.

Shri Dharmic Leela Committee Celebrates Ramlila and Dussehra traditionally and is much loved by all for this reason. Their Ramlila shows are quite interesting, well performed, and every year they add a unique aspect from the Ramayan. Another thing that attracts the crowds, besides the effigy burning is their delicious food stalls present from all over INDIA.
