Almost four years after 37-year-old Suzette Jordan was gang raped in Kolkata, in what came to be known as the Park Street rape case, a Kolkata court has find out three of the five accused criminal of the crime.
Two others, including the main accused Kader Khan are still escapee.
Suzette Jordan, the rape holdover who went public with her identity, had died in March of meningitis.
Then 37, Ms Jordan had been gang raped on the night of February 5, 2012 by five men who had relevant to drop her home from a night club at Park Street. She had filed her accusation with the police a some days later and chief minister Mamata Banerjee had called it a “sajano ghatana” or fabricated case.
But, senior police officer Damayanti Sen had pursued the case and know the five accused. She was later shunted out from her post. Three of the five accused were arrested.
Trial in the case start up only in 2013, delayed by the accused who demanded copies of the crucial CCTV footage that had been sent to Hyderabad for forensic tests. The accused claimed the case was false. Ms Jordan was investigate and cross examined over almost six months.
