Arvind Kejriwal To Raise Destruction Drive Issue with Railway Minister


New Delhi: Enraged over a destruction drive that allegedly lead to the death of a 6-month-old infant, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal says, he has demand a meeting with Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu over the issue.

Mr Kejriwal write on Twitter. “Demand an appointment with Railway Minister, Sh Suresh Prabhu ji.”

The Aam Aadmi Party government has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the destruction drive and death of the six-month-old girl, though railways has says that the incident had “nothing to do with eviction of encroachments”.

The baby died due to suffocation after a pile of clothes fell on her when the parents were make to move out of the jhuggi.

Mr Kejriwal met Railway officer at his habitation over the issue, but was unhappy with their respond.

Railway officer failed to give satisfactory respond as to why the destruction drive was take out when asked whether it was an emergency project,” sources told Press Trust of India.

They also alleged that when the chief minister asked them about why proper rehabilitation measures were not taken before destruction Railway officer said that they will inform their Board and Ministry about it.

The Chief Minister was not happy with the Railway officer’ respond and he would have the matter with Railway Minister,” sources told news agency PTI.
